It has been hard to put together an inspiration post on a home when they stay on the market for approx 5 seconds in today’s market. But I have a good one for you today! Shockingly, it has been on the market for 6 days, but it will not last long- so chop chop and call me if you like it.
When I was walking through the first level of this home, I got that {OMG OMG, Let’s move in!} vibe. The main room is really great with a large, open layout. Wood ceilings, a double island and access to a large deck with city views- how could you go wrong!? And my favorite thing is that it is basically in original condition to when it was built- that way you don’t have to pay for any updates that aren’t to your liking.. but it also means you have to pay for ALL the updates if you don’t want to keep it as-is. In the end, it was not the home for me- we can’t take on a big project right now. But maybe you’re looking for something to keep you busy? If so, I have a few ideas for you!

You start off with pretty good curb appeal but it does need a few paint touch ups. I’d probably keep the same colors or go a smidge darker. Glass railings would really help accentuate the awesome view.
Swap out the front door for a sleek iron and glass door to let in more light.

This is an awesome great room! There are a few contrasting wood tones so I’d likely paint the lower paneling and leave the ceiling as is. I’d do a warm limewash treatment on all the walls. Replace the carpet with wood floors that have similar tones to the ceiling. And keep furnishings modern but rustic- no glam or super mod in this house.
The double sided fireplace is amazing! Don’t touch it!

Rip out the upper shelving to the right of the fireplace and put up a Frame TV.

The dining area takes advantage of the view and is located on the far end of the living room. A large wooden table and an iron chandelier are a must.
The cabinets are in good shape so you could try to save them by sanding down. Rip out the uppers and install some open shelving to bring it into this century. Add in some nice matching appliances and top it all off with concrete counters.

The master is great. Scrape off the popcorn ceilings-eeek. And add some wooden beams.

I really think you can work with this existing layout but if you want to go all out- replace the small far window with an extra large window wall and plop your tub right in front if it! Incorporate the shower around the tub. Drooling..

Check out that built in jacuzzi! It looks pretty old, so either replace or remove. I would probably feel weird having a jacuzzi on the front of my house– but that wouldn’t stop me from wanting to keep it.

There are two nice sized bedrooms on the opposite side of the home as the Master- the older my kids get, this seems to be a major bonus to me.

The family room is huge! Rip out the drop ceilings- those should only be reserved for the office!

So what do you think? Did I go way over the top- probably! But that’s what’s fun about home ownership- the ability to dream up your home’s full potential. Call me if you want to schedule a showing.
