Cute house: Do this to it!

Well hello there!  It’s been a while since I’ve done a pretend remodel of a house I don’t own.  But they are so fun.  So here you go!

I run by this house all the time and think it has major potential.  I can’t believe it hasn’t sold yet!

I’ll first point out that it has an amazing view.  Sold!

I love the Board and Batten Siding.  I love the deck.  Paint it all black.  Trim and all.  Then I’d add a black metal roof.

Landscape with tons of lush plants and year round greenery.

Go modern on the interior.  I’d replace the railing with something modern.

And put in a statement light fixture.  Although that existing lantern could be cute with the right decor.

I love the exposed brick fireplace.  Keep it!  But I would replace the cabinets to the right with built in firewood storage.

Like this.

What a cute window seat!

Add some comfy pillows and cushions and curl up with a good book.

It looks like an eat in kitchen.  So I’d wrap the room in modern slab cabinets.  Then add a statement light in the center of the room with a cool rustic dining table below.

That bathroom could benefit from some extra shelving.  Add statement tile and modern fixtures.

I really like the built ins in this room.  It’d be a great office.

Brighten it up a bit and you could have yourself a pretty cute office.

Remove the carpet and keep it light and bright with sleek, simple fixtures.

If that paneling is in good shape, I’d paint it out in a deep, moody color.  And if the concrete under the carpet is in good shape, I’d polish and seal it.

Another fireplace!

I love that there is an upper deck.  I’d also put in a lower patio below the deck (if there isn’t one already)

The Upper deck can be your outdoor dining space.  And be sure to add a comfy sectional so you have a place to sit and enjoy the great view!

The lower deck would be a great place to lounge in your swinging chair!  And the raw wood sectional would look amazing with the black exterior.

Thanks for reading!  And if you like this home, I’d be happy to schedule a showing for you.  I’d love to be the one to sell it.

*Home is active on the market at the time of this post. If you read this at a later date, the home may be sold or off the market. Contact me to for more information or to find a similar home. All opinions are my own. And of course, there is nothing wrong with this house as it is.. I just got inspired to show what I would do.

These are fun. You should do them for your individual clients so they can see the potential various homes have that they’re considering purchasing. I suppose it’s a bit time consuming, though. Anyway, you have a great eye!
